This is the line of Triumphs at the annual car show in St Francis, Kansas. The club members usually drive to St Francis on Friday or leave very early Saturday morning for the 3 hour drive east for the all day show.
Then in the evening it's a cookout at Bob and JoAnn Klie's farm with some of the group staying overnight and others making the 3 hour drive back to Denver. |
| This was the scene as the group ate dinner at the Moonlight drive at the Kenney's in 2007. We had visited the extensive collection of 49-50-51 Fords of Ivan Fleitcher, a neighbor of the Kenneys.
That is Shirley with our Daughter-In-Law Cathy standing at the far end of the table. |

This was at the Drivers School of the Rocky Mountain Vintage Racing Club's school in LaJunta in 2008. Ray and Janie Jones were co-drivers with their nearly stock TR-3.
They showed one can go vintage racing with a stock Triumph (although one might be the slowest on the track. They came to a club meeting later that summer at Piccolo's and told the group about their experiences. Tragically, Ray passed away in March of 2010. |

This was our annual 2008 Fathers Day picnic at the home of Harry Cornelius near Elizabeth. We had invited the MG club to join us. |

Several years ago the annual MG Rallye to Glenwood Springs was interrupted by a massive fire.
It broke out in the old coal fields located south of the hotel and soon we could see the black smoke rising from behind the first line of mountains. Shirley and I arrived in town about 5 pm and checked into the Holiday Inn Express. Due in part to the omnious looking smoke we didn't unpack but just left our bags in the hotel room.
Just as the banquet was starting Gordon went upstairs to the parking lot of the Raddison to look at the "fire". By then the flames had come up over the ridge of hills to the south and were racing down the mountain. The Colorado river and I-70 seperated the hotels from the fire but it looked bad.
We immediately left the banquet, grabbed our bags out of the room (didn't even stop at the desk that by now wasn't checking anyone else in), threw them in the car and headed back to Denver.
We got out of town OK but others who didn't try to leave until after 8 pm found I-70 eastbound closed and several club members came back through Aspen and over Independence pass late that night.
The rest of the weekend events were canceled and they held the car show later in the summer at a park in Golden.
I took this photo of Shirley as she stood in the parking lot looking at the flames.

James DeBartolmeis turned 15 in the Spring of 2009 and obtained his driving permit. Silvio will be driving with him in the coming months (maybe in the TR3?).
Tony and Carol Broadman were members of the club for several years. Tony had been a executive with Quest in Denver and Carol was a flight attendent. They lived in the foothills west of Denver and sometimes hosted the clubs Christmas party. Their car was a "black plate" CA car and was one of the best TR6's in the club.
After his retirement they moved to Napa Vallye in California. Soon thereafter Tony developed Multiple Myleoma and eventually died from the disease. Carol continues to live in Napa Valley and Tony's daughter Dawn lives in the San Fransico area and has the TR6.

Tom and Dorthy High joined the RMTC many years ago and were part of the club during VTR 1999 in Boulder and contributed significantly to the VTR 2001 in Breckenridge. Their BRG TR2 was a part of many of our events and usually went home with a Trophy. On some events they drove both the TR2 and their Spitfire. They lived in the Denver metro area until a few years ago when they moved to Grand Junction; this placed them nearer family and was back to "home" as they both grew up in that area. They had recently celebrated 51 years of marriage.
These photos were taken at the service in Grand Junction. Approximately 25 RMTC members attended along with many others from other parts of her life. The "Memorial Service" was a celebration of Dorthy's life and was put together and MC'd by their daughter Kimmer and son-in-law Peter Jepson.
Brooks Turner (forground, blue shirt), was part of the group of 25 RMTC members who attended this service and most of us stayed overnight and made it a two day trip.
Each person was given a baloon to join a mass release.
